community life
Church members in all kinds of personal and individual ways express God's love and care in our community. Many take a real interest in issues of justice and social concern both locally and in the wider world.
project 229
Project 229 is an attempt by a variety of agencies to help build a stronger community. The grace church family is right at the heart of this. Our church office is on the premises from which our staff can provide help and advice.
- ‘The Net' is a project designed to help support isolated women and their children. A small toy library has also been set up for parents and their children to enable families to borrow toys and equipment.
- Practical Courses such as ‘How to drug-proof your kids', Marriage Preparation, Money Management and Debt Advice, are run on a regular basis. Help in parenting skills using a seminar style course called 'Parent Talk' is offered annually.
- ‘Gateway', a support group for people trying to overcome addiction problems.
- ‘Movies at 229' is run by our members to give teenagers in the community an enjoyable evening watching movies as an alternative to 'nothing to do and nowhere to go'.
