community events
The church hosts a series of events which are open to all. They are designed to help provide a fuller picture of the Christian message and the way it can play out in our lives. For example, there are:
- carol services The largest venue in Kempston, the Addison Centre, is used to host a packed annual carol service. Lovely seasonal music, participation from individuals in the community, and a relevant explanation of the Christmas message has proved hugely popular. We also host a very lively and relaxed ‘Carols for Kids' service. Geared to young families with little children, it is always eagerly anticipated.
- autumn supper The Addison Centre is used to host a well attended evening where, after a high quality buffet enjoyed in a relaxed environment, an after dinner talk is given applying the Christian message to our contemporary world.
- remembrance service Again at the Addison Centre, the focus is on helping older people with vivid memories of the past and communicating to younger people the importance of being grateful for the freedom we enjoy, and the cost at which it was bought.
- easter service The message of the death and resurrection of Jesus impacts people all around the world. Easter is a great time to consider the meaning of this for our own lives.
